Just wanted to send out a
reminder about Leadership Training 3, scheduled to launch either
Saturday morning, Feb.2 at 10am or Monday evening, Feb. 4 at 7pm.  As
those who take leadership positions in your small group, please plan on
attending either of these sessions.  The topic we’ll focus on is ‘Service‘:
what it means to serve our small group, our community, and our church,
and then how to do it!  Faith’s Volunteer Coordinator, Linda Burkhardt,
will be our special guest and will tell us more about the ministry that
she is doing to equip people for service.

Wanna do something good?

I just spent 20 minutes improving my vocabulary and donating rice to hungry families around the world.  It’s fun and you can impress your small group members with your ginormous (yes, ginormous is officially a word in this year’s Webster’s dic.) vocabulary when you next meet!  Go to Freerice to begin feeding the hungry.

LT2 is here!

Just a reminder to be present either this Saturday – Nov. 3 from 10-11:30am or Monday – Nov. 5 from 7-8:30pm for Leadership Training 2. This will be a great chance for us to reconnect, review, and refuel for the next few months of small group ministry. Our focus will be on encouraging your group to care for one another. We’ll use some video clips from ReGroup, a resource just published (october 2007) by Willow Creek. Here’s a taste of what ReGroup is all about.

As you can see, there are a lot of people who want to experience the amazing type of community that we all get from being a part of a Christ-centered small group. Thank you all for being open to having new members join your groups, and I pray that not only will your new members be a blessing to you, but you will be a blessing to them!

Small Group Social Events

There will be opportunities twice this year to get out and have fun with your small group. First in October (11th ,13th, 14th) and then in February (21st, 23rd, 24th). We need some ideas for these dates!!! Over the 3 dates each in October & February it would be nice to plan 1 thing that seniors would like to do, 1 thing for adults (in general), and 1 thing for families. Comment with your ideas!

 

Let’s Serve our Community

We need to gather ideas that will help us to serve people here in the Fox Valley. Ideas can be one time projects, seasonal commitments or even weekly opportunities. Post things that you’ve done before and things you’ve heard of but never done. Hopefully, we’ll help each other to find meaningful ways to serve our neighbors!
